Meet Our Team

Diego Núñez is a materials engineer graduated from the University of British Columbia and is currently completing his research master's degree in Socio-environmental Studies at FLACSO-Ecuador.

Originally from Ibarra, Ecuador, where Diego has gained most of his experience as a volunteer.

Before going to UBC, he has worked in different social activities that include helping older adults living in nursing homes, organizing activities for a youth group, as well as helping and working with limited income communities on the Ecuadorian coast.

During his time at UBC, Diego and his friends participated in the World's Challenge Challenge competition with a project focused on addressing the problem of malnutrition in Ecuador, which is now one of the pillars of YANAPANA.

Diego describes himself as an enthusiastic and charismatic person who is always open to new ideas for the benefit of others, especially those most in need.
